Such findings were derived by experts who examined the most popular domestic brands of 72.5% butter throughout the country.
This time the Nezhinskaya butter (72.5%) produced by the Gusevmoloko dairy was recognised as a product outscoring the quality standards (5.1 points out of 5.5 possible).
Roskachestvo (Russian Quality) experts described it as follows, ‘In the butter there are no pathogenic microorganisms, coliform bacteria or Staphylococcus aureus. The content of yeast and mould in the product does not exceed the permissible standards. The butter contains no preservatives (such as benzoic and sorbic acid salts) or dyes. The heat resistance of the butter is excellent; it retains its shape for two hours at room temperature. It is of normal humidity. There is also enough fat in it. The product is made of high-quality cream. This is indicated by the plasm acidity value. This butter is fresh. The fatty acid composition test showed that the butter is really made of cream, without the addition of any vegetable fats. The appearance of the butter is its colour, consistency, and taste and smell corresponded to the product category. The actual net weight corresponds to that indicated in the marking’.
It should be reminded that in 2018 the Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Service for Veterinarian and Vegetation Sanitary Supervision) in conjunction with Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare) and Roskachestvo, on behalf of the government of the Russian Federation, purchased dairy products in all regions of the country. Of the 82 most popular brands of butter in Russia, the fat content of 72.5% (Krestyanskoye), 53 complied with the established GOST requirements and are safe. Of these, only 19 brands are recognised as high-quality goods and may qualify for a state Quality Mark.
