BREEDING ANIMALS OF THE HOLDING COMPANY ARRIVED AT THE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION
At the VDNKh (Exhibition of Economic Achievements) in Moscow city, the International Exhibition of Breeding and Technologies for the Production and Processing of Livestock Products is being held. Within three days, fr om February 4 to 6, 2020, manufacturers of all areas of breeding, equipment and technologies, specialists of agricultural holding companies and farms present their products, as well as share experiences and discuss current issues with representatives of business, science, government and public structures. As part of the business program specialized events are held with the participation of leading Russian and foreign experts, master classes and a business trip to one of the enterprises in the field of cattle genetics are organized.
In speaking at the official opening ceremony of the exhibition, the Acting Director of the Livestock and Breeding Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation G.I. Shichkin noted that the exhibition allows discussing issues of increasing production efficiency, product competitiveness and other relevant tasks facing the agricultural sector.
One of the main ones at the exhibition is the exposition of animals. Kaliningrad region is represented by DolgovGroup agricultural holding company, which brought elite bulls of Limousin, Charolais and Aberdeen Angus breeds to the capital. Specialists of the Dairy factory of the holding company have been breeding since 2011, and today the enterprise is the only one in the region that has the status of the pedigree breeding unit. Five cattle breeds are bred here: Holstein and Black-and-White dairy breeds, as well as beef breeds - Limousin, Charolais and Aberdeen Angus. The holding company strictly monitors compliance with breed standards, providing for this the necessary conditions for breeding, livestock keeping, care and feeding with high-quality feed, which are produced in own feed mills.
Animals are grown according to Hungarian technology, which involves their presence in conditions as close to natural as possible. From May to October, they graze in the field, and from October to May they are kept in pens, yard housing. At the exhibition it could be find out how this works from the film, which was shot this summer in Nesterovsky district, wh ere pastures of the holding company are located.
It should be noted that the film, which was continuously shown on the platform of the holding company, aroused keen interest among visitors of the exhibition. After watching it, in particular, representatives of livestock enterprises from Russian regions and neighboring countries were interested in the conditions of keeping and acquiring animals, and guests of the exhibition asked about the characteristics, character and habits of different breeds. And all of them, without exception, photographed and captured the bulls on video, noting their beauty and noble appearance. And some took selfies with them and broadcasted live event online using Internet resources, in real time showing powerful animals to colleagues and relatives.
